4 (UPI) — On Thursday, the federal government said hackers managed to access the Obamacare website over the summer. The Health and Human Services Department, which oversees the heathcare.gov website said the malware, did not steal anyone’s information . Officials stressed no one’s personal information was ever at risk. HHS spokesman Kevin Griffis said, “Our review indicates that the server did not contain consumer personal information; data was not transmitted outside the agency, and the website was not specifically targeted.” They said the attack happened because of a series of mistakes. The server that was hacked was just a test server that was never supposed to be connected to the Internet, but for some reason, it was — leaving it open to attack. Health department officials said the attack the low level hacker quality and didn’t do any damage. That was one reason it took the website’s security team four weeks to find it. 2014 United Press International, Inc.
